Native woodland perennial with

thrice divided foliage.

Leaflets are deeply saw-toothed.

Dense clusters of small white flowers

bloom in April, May and June.

Fruit is an attractive & eye-catching

but poisonous white berry

held on bright red pedicels.

The plant is called Doll’s Eyes

because the shiny white fruit resembles

china eyes once used on dolls.

Colorful addition to a shade garden.
